A Navy servicemember seeks pro bono help with a landlord-tenant case. The servicemember vacated her apartment when her lease ended, and she assumed that her roommate, who was not on the lease, would do the same. However, her roommate did not leave the apartment. Thereafter, the servicemember was unaware that the landlord filed a complaint against her for unpaid rent. In violation of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), the landlord received a default judgment. The servicemember would like to set aside the judgment or seek a settlement.
