A Reservist seeks pro bono assistance with a landlord-tenant dispute. The Reservist lived in private military housing, which had a faulty roof and improperly insulated air conditioning vents that caused extensive mold and water damage to the property. The Reservist and his family left due to the property’s poor condition after numerous maintenance requests went unanswered. The landlord now claims that the Reservist owes over $10,000 for the damages. The Reservist seeks help to pursue the proper remedy. While the Reservist’s referring military attorney is not permitted to provide in-court representation, the military attorney can potentially provide other assistance to a volunteer attorney.
