A Marine Corps servicemember stationed overseas seeks pro bono assistance with a consumer law and family law matter involving her husband’s vehicle. The Marine purchased her husband’s car for him while they were still married because her husband had bad credit. When the couple divorced, the decree stated that the husband was to take ownership of the vehicle and take over all remaining payments on the car. Shortly after the divorce was finalized, the Marine was contacted repeatedly and asked for payments on the car from the bank, as her husband was not making payments. She refused to pay and tried to provide as much information as possible about her ex-husband so that the car could be repossessed. She had not been able to contact her husband. She seeks help to pursue the proper remedy.
