Information for Military Spouse J.D. Network’s Justice for Military Families Volunteers

This page provides information solely for the Military Spouse J.D. Network’s Justice for Military Families (JMF) volunteers. You must be logged onto the website with your email address and personal password to access the documents on this page.

Registration:

If this is your first visit to the ABA Military Pro Bono Project website, you need to register:

  1. On the homepage, click the “Attorney Registration” link on the right side of the web page.
  2. You will be prompted to provide information about yourself and supply a personal password you will use to access the site in the future.
  3. Under “Member Type,” select “Pro Bono.” Under “Area Member Type,” select “MSJDN Coordinator.”
  4. After submitting the registration form, wait for a confirmation email indicating that your registration has been approved. After approved, click on “Login” on the right side of the webpage to gain access to secured pages and documents.
Referring Cases Through the ABA Military Pro Bono Project:
  • How to Refer Cases to the ABA MPBP from MSJDN: For JMF volunteers from the Military Spouse J.D. Network, this document provides detailed information and instructions about how to make case referrals to the ABA Military Pro Bono Project.

  • ABA Military Pro Bono Project Guidelines: JMF volunteers may make case referrals to the ABA Military Pro Bono Project on behalf of unrepresented family members of incapacitated or deceased servicemembers. To help determine client eligibility, follow Sections 3-6 in these “ABA Military Pro Bono Project Guidelines for Military Legal Assistance Attorneys.”
  • Acknowledgement Letter for MSJDN: Before submitting an online case referral on behalf of an eligible client, this ABA Acknowledgement Letter for MSJDN must be signed by the client.
